Battle of the Artists: My Night with Inter Miami CF

Being part of the 2025 Battle of the Artists presented by Inter Miami CF and Heineken at WYN 317 Gallery was one of those experiences that remind you why you create art. It brought together community, creativity and the energy of Miami Art Week in a single night.

I shared the event with five artists whose work I’ve seen around the city and who each contribute something unique to Miami’s street art scene: Mars, Ktano, Carlos Solano, el Changuri and Teepop. Some of them I already knew in person, others I had only followed through their work in the streets. Arriving a few hours early gave us time to talk, connect and learn more about what each of us was working on during this busy week. That alone made the experience special.

The Inter Miami CF team and the WYN 317 crew, Michelle and Danelle, handled everything at an impressive level—from logistics and materials to creating an atmosphere that brought together artists, collectors and art lovers at the very start of Miami Art Week. The crowd showed up strong, and the format was exciting: one hour to create a piece inspired by the club. Fast, intense and extremely fun.

At the end of the event I expected a winner to be announced, but the voting was later moved online through Inter Miami CF’s official website. It turned out to be a great way for more people to participate.

If I could suggest anything for future editions, it would simply be slightly larger canvases—especially for artists who come from muralism and are used to working at a bigger scale. Even so, the event worked perfectly as it was. Those are just small details that could elevate an already solid experience.

I’m grateful to everyone who attended, messaged me, shared the moment and supported the event. And I’m thankful to Inter Miami CF, Heineken and WYN 317 for creating a meaningful platform for local artists during one of the most important art weeks of the year.
